Spot the Comic Cover Inspirations in the Spider-Man Brand New Day Trailer

The first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day isn’t just about flashy action, it also gives a nod to Spider-Man’s comic book roots. Fans quickly noticed three shots that clearly take inspiration from classic covers, showing that the film cares about the visual history that made Peter Parker so iconic. Instead of just reimagining Spider-Man, the trailer brings these familiar images to life in a new way.

One scene mirrors The Amazing Spider-Man #345, featuring Boomerang, showing Spider-Man mid-action. Another shot echoes The Amazing Spider-Man #134, with Tarantula looming large. And finally, there’s a moment inspired by Amazing Fantasy #15, the very cover that introduced Spider-Man, putting him front and center and capturing the feeling of a hero trying to find his place in the world.
What’s great is that these references don’t feel forced, they fit naturally into the trailer’s story. They’re a way of honoring Spider-Man’s past while giving fans a taste of the challenges and excitement the film promises. It’s a small detail, but it shows that Brand New Day knows what makes Spider-Man more than just a superhero: it’s the heart and history behind the mask.
