Cross Season 3 Is Happening: Cast and Creator Celebrate the Journey So Far

Prime Video’s Cross has officially been renewed for Season 3, and if the cast and creator’s insights are any indication, the series is only getting more layered, more personal, and more thought-provoking.

In a recent interview with Once and Always a Fanboy, star and producer Aldis Hodge shared that Season 2’s shift into moral gray areas was a deliberate move to challenge both the characters and the audience. Instead of a straightforward good versus evil narrative, the show dives into questions of vigilantism, asking how far is too far when doing something for the “right” reasons. It is this emotional ambiguity that continues to define the evolving identity of Cross.

Showrunner Ben Watkins emphasized that the heart of the series lies not just with Alex Cross, but with the world around him. By expanding the backstories of characters like Sampson and Kayla, the team approached each supporting role as if they could lead their own story. That philosophy has helped transform Cross into a richer, more immersive experience, one where every character carries weight and purpose. This deeper investment in character driven storytelling is a key reason why the series continues to resonate with audiences.

With Season 3 on the horizon, the foundation laid in the first two seasons is clearly paying off. As Isaiah Mustafa described it, Season 1 built the base, and now the show is “building the house.” If the trajectory continues, the series could explore even more emotional stakes, complex relationships, and morally challenging narratives. Cross is shaping up to be one of Prime Video’s most compelling crime dramas.
