Hello everyone, my name is Chris, and welcome to Once and Always a Fanboy.

I began my professional life in my early 20s as the drummer for the rock band Sponge Cola. I played on their first three albums, two of which went Platinum.

In my 30s, I shifted into content creation through my YouTube channel, Chris Cantada Force, which has grown to over 1.6 million subscribers. The channel became home to the cosplay fan films I produced and directed, most of them inspired by Power Rangers.

Then in 2016, something unexpected happened. I was invited to my very first film junket for Captain America: Civil War, where I had the chance to interview Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, and Anthony Mackie. That experience changed something in me. Sitting in the same room and having real conversations with people I genuinely fanboy over sparked a new kind of ambition I did not even know I had.

Over the years, I was fortunate enough to take part in more junkets here and there, though my main focus was still producing and directing fan films. But as I approached 40, I realized I might be getting a little too old to wear spandex. So I decided to focus on the thing that excited me the most during those experiences: interviewing the actors and creators behind the stories I love.

From 2023 to 2024, I slowly began making it clear that this was the path I wanted to pursue. I started creating more interview driven content and was incredibly lucky to work with studios like Netflix and Disney along the way. Those opportunities gave me the practice and confidence to fully commit to this new chapter.

But eventually I realized that my name alone could only take me so far. I wanted something bigger than myself. I wanted a brand that represented what these conversations were really about.

So I created a new show.

In late 2024, that show became Once and Always a Fanboy.

For those who have been with me since the early 2000s, you are the OGs. And for those who discovered me through this podcast, welcome. I am just getting started, and I am excited to see where this journey goes.

Once a fanboy, always a fanboy.
